I have always liked a good Viognier. In fact, I’ve never had a Viognier I didn’t like, and when it comes to price to value, the Alvi’s Drift Viognier, from Worcester, has become a staple in our wine wrack.
As part of their Signature Range , the Viognier is cold fermented and matured on the lees for four months. Price spread for the Signature Range is between R40 R48 per bottle, and R276 for a case of the Viognier.
Tasting notes:
Sweet stone fruit, cashews, light lemon zest, vanilla, and mild oak.
In 2015 it won:
- Double Gold Ultra Value Wines 2015
- Gold Vitis Vinifera Award 2015
- Silver International Wine & Spirit Competition 2015
I typically prefer red wine, but this wine always makes me happy. In my opinion it’s definitely worth stockpiling.
